ABOUT US
Tampa Hydrographics Facility is your one-stop shop for all your custom creative needs.
Owner/operator Tony Mittelstaedt specializes in hydrodipping or hydrographic printing for automobiles, marine vessels, all-terrain vehicles, golf carts and more.
If it’s made of plastic, metal or wood, we can water transfer any commercially available film pattern that you want. For the uninitiated, hydrographic printing is a water-transfer printing process that formerly was exclusively used by the automotive industry. Unlike vinyl wrapping, which is basically glorified tape, hydrodip has the same prep and work as a custom paint job with the pattern being chemically adhered to the paint base coat, and protected from UV and the elements by an outer layer of automotive clear coat. Also known as camo dipping, cubic printing and immersion printing, hydrographic printing is the equivalent of a custom paint job with a water transferred print.
Tampa Hydrographic Facility has a professional tank and paint-spray booth on-site. We hand mix all of our automotive paints to provide a wide array of color choices, limited only by your imagination. We also match factory OEM paint.
Most custom requests are completed within a week to two weeks.
As a holder of a 07 FFL we also offer top-of-the-line coating services for handguns and firearms:
-
Duracoat is a firearm finishing technology that is among the most simple and most professional finishes available.
-
Cerakote is a ceramic-based finish that is abrasion/wear resistant, corrosion resistant, chemical resistant and drop resistant. We sandblast off the existing factory protective coating and can stencil the weapon with a design of your choice.
-
KG Gun Kote is impact and solvent-resistant and protects your firearm from destructive chemicals and from seizing during use. This popular coating protects from dirt and dust accumulation and makes for easier cleaning and maintenance.
Tampa Hydrographic Facility has its own in-studio oven to thermally cure the finishes directly onto your firearm, as required.
Tampa Hydrographic Facility is located in Pinellas County at 3349 118th Ave. North, St. Petersburg, FL 33716.
